Barbados is the most easterly of the islands of the Caribbean. It is a coral island and this accounts for the beautiful sand that makes our beaches the best you will find anywhere. Politically and socially stable, Barbados is the ideal getaway island for travelers who want a break from the stress of home but where everything works.

Beach Wedding Venue

Crystal clear water and silvery sand combine to make Barbados a beach lovers paradise and the perfect place for weddings and affairs of the heart. All beaches in Barbados are public. Clients wishing to conduct events on the beach are advised that there are no private beaches in Barbados. Barbadians are very understanding people and respect the sanctity of a wedding event.

Barbadians, or Bajans as we are often called, are known the world over for being a friendly, peaceful people. Every year during the summer months of July & August we celebrate our carnival Crop Over, to mark the end of the sugar harvesting season. Colourful costumes and lots of music feature prominently with food and spirits (usually rum).

Some couples plan their wedding at this time to take in some of the action and others incorporate aspects of the performances into their wedding festivities to give an authentic feel of Barbados to their event. Feel free to ask our staff for ideas on how you can have a piece of the island's culture in your wedding day celebration.

The currency of Barbados is the Barbados Dollar which converts at a rate of two to one with the US Dollar. Major currencies are widely accepted or can be changed at any bank. Our capital Bridgetown, is located on the south western corner of the island between the upscale west coast and the south coast 'party central', home of the famous St Lawrence Gap.

The Caribbean sea washes the beaches on the southern and western sides of the island with a gentle caress that gives rise to some of our most treasured beaches. In contrast, the northern and eastern sides are more rugged and tend to be more favoured by those seeking surfing thrills.

Public and privately owned transport coupled with an extensive road network make getting around Barbados a breeze. International known brands along with locally produced goods are widely available and duty free shopping means that one does not have to look too far for bargains. Also, internationally rated hotel and restaurant options are available for any budget.

Parliment Building

Barbados boasts the Oldest parliamentarian system in this part of the world with a system of governance based on the British. We are an independent country but the influences of the old colonial systems still can be seen both in terms of the culture of the people and in the physical & social infrastructure. Hence the references to Little England are still somewhat relevant.
