This page is dedicated to our participation in the Dining by Design event which was a part of the Barbados Food Festival 08 'A Taste of Barbados'. Our parent company Pangroove Entertainment Inc, was one of ten design teams paired with ten top chefs from Barbados each depicting a given theme.
Our assigned chef was 'Chef of the Year' Mitchel Husbands and he did not disappoint, the food was excellent. The theme we were given was 'Barbados A Tropical Splendor'. Our design depicted an island complete with water and sand and palms adorned with orchids which over hug the tables. The hues of the sunset in the roof of the tent and the sunset in the background all contributed to the depiction of the theme.
The manner in which the food was served also recieved consideration as did the menu. The Seafood starter was served in a sea shell on an oster shell. The second course was coconut pumpkin soup and was served in the shell of a coconut with the 'meat' still intact. The fish course & Lamb were presented on Earthworks platters which itself mirrored the tropical island splendor, our central theme, featuring a coconut tree.
